Using External Tools

People often combine ChroMapper with external mapping tools to fill gaps in ChroMapper’s functionality. This can include other mapping editors, dedicated programs for Chroma lighting and Noodle Extensions mapping, and custom-made scripts.

When combining ChroMapper with other mapping tools, the best practice is to always close ChroMapper before using any other mapping tool. Once ChroMapper loads a map from disk, it is cached for the duration of the session. Saving will always cause ChroMapper to overwrite the existing file with what is stored in cache. While ChroMapper has a Map Reload functionality (Default binding is Ctrl-Shift-R), this only applies to certain parts of the difficulty file.

If you don’t want to close and re-open ChroMapper every time you open an external tool, you should look into alternative ChroMapper plugins or scripts.
